Thalang is situated on the northern part of Phuket Island. This is the biggest district on in Phuket. Thalang been established since 1898 also called “Mueang Thalang” it was province centre in the past. Then the governor had the title Phaya Thalang. Phuket had been fighting with Myanmar to preserve province from enemy.

The Khao Phra Thaeo Non Hunting National Park the area covers more than 20 kilometers of rainforest hill. The Sirinat National Park covers in the northwestern coast since 1981 of area 90 kilometers.
